Our Commitment to the Park
City Events (formerly World Polo Ltd) agreed a deal with the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham in 2008 to stage an annual polo event at Hurlingham Park and to improve the park. The event has taken place there since 2009. Sportgate International Ltd took over in 2014 and kept the same management team.
Paid for by the event
The organisers produce, deliver and pay for the event.
Year-round investment
Over £1 million has gone into the park since 2009, including upgraded sports pitches, and investment continues all year.
Sustainable irrigation
A borehole built in 2011 irrigates the park from groundwater rather than mains water, and is regulated by the Environment Agency.
Ground care
Maintenance before and after the event reduces compaction and includes seeding and fertilising.
Local business boost
More than 50 local businesses work directly with the event, and up to 28,000 visitors come to the area over the three days.
Working with residents
We engage with local residents' groups and donate to a residents' fund for work in the park. The event has also won London and Visit England awards.
Since 1874
The History of Polo at Hurlingham
Polo was first played at Hurlingham in 1874. The grounds hosted the 1908 Olympic polo final and the Westchester Cup matches from 1910 to 1939, before being turned over to allotments during the Second World War. The Hurlingham Polo Association's rules still govern most of the polo-playing world, and England returned to play at Hurlingham in 2015.
2027 Event Programme
International polo and family entertainment across three days. Timings and entertainment may change, and the full timetable will be confirmed closer to the event. Residents with a ticket may re-enter during the day.
Sunday only: on-pitch kids' entertainment, a children's sports day, face painting and extra children's entertainers.

Are tickets available to residents?
Yes. The council has 2,000 free general admission tickets for Hammersmith & Fulham residents, allocated by ballot.
