The few rule changes that have been made by World Polo are to create a fun, fast and free flowing game to watch and enjoy. The main body of rule changes are the same as FIP and HPA which are based on horse and player safety. Our advances on the rules include: The 45 Yard Ring World Polo has abolished all 60, 40 and 30 yard penalties to encourage less fouls and longer shots at goal. Goals scored outside the ‘D’ are awarded two points as opposed to one point inside the ‘D’. Changing Ends At present teams change ends after each goal causing confusion to spectators. We will only change ends at half time. Goal hit outs Players will hit out after a goal when the umpires call play. Ball out of play If the ball goes out of play there will be a throw in. However if a player is deemed to have deliberately hit the ball out of play, a spot hit will be awarded to the opposing team.
